From Buoninsegna you can leave and start many tours: walking, biking and driving..

Some suggestions:

  • Walking and trekking: on the property you find many paths and lanes, along our vineyards, climbing up to the olive grove or just along our woods and fields
  • Mountain bikes rides: In Rapolano, at the local tourist office, you can rent very good mountain bikes at reasonable prices. The "Crete Senesi" Hills offer many routes you can cycle.
  • Trips by car:
    • Visit of Siena (half day trip) : you can visit Siena with the English speaking town-guide (once per week, every Tuesday ), leading you through the historical centre showing you all the secrets of the town . (the visit is free).
    • The Crete Senesi Tour (from half to a full day trip) : from Rapolano drive to Asciano and to Monte Oliveto Maggiore Abbey with its beautiful frescos. Then continue to Buonconvento and to Montalcino and Pienza to the Orcia Valley : from the charming landscape of "Crete", the famous Tuscan hills cultivated with wheat, with solitary cypresses, to the famous town of "Brunello di Montalcino" red wine and "Pecorino di Pienza" cheese; a perfect union between natural beauty and very good oeno-gastronomy.
    • The Chianti tour (from half to a full day trip) : from Castelnuovo Berardenga to San Gusmè, Gaiole in Chianti, Radda in Chianti, Castellina in Chianti , through the beautiful landscape. With marvellous vineyards and sweet hills; stop and visit castles, wineries, antique villages and Villas, without forgetting to taste a good glass of Chianti wine.
    • Cortona and Trasimeno Lake tour (from half to a full day trip) : easy to be reached by "superstrada" (motorway); after visiting the beautiful little town of Cortona, you can easily continue to the Trasimeno Lake and even take the little ferry to its little islands (very impressive in Autumn and Spring); there are another few kilometres to reach Perugia, Umbria's pearl.
    • Monteriggioni and San Gimignano tour (1 day trip) : the little town called Monteriggioni is famous for its antique walls and the pretty historical centre; then continue to San Gimignano, the town of towers with a beautiful medieval centre.
    • Visit of Florence (1 day trip) : this town can be easily reached by motorway or also with the efficient public transport (especially by bus) in about 1 hour. For those who want to visit the important museums of Florence (Uffizi or Accademia) we can make a reservation, thus avoiding queueing for hours.
    • Visit of Arezzo (from half to 1 day trip) : at 45 minutes only by car; pretty and lively town with nice shops and precious artistic and historical monuments.
